About Camano Island Quilters

In March of 1986 a small group of women founded the Camano Island Quilters Guild. The goals of the funding members were to bring quilters together to share their skills, knowledge and inspirations and in so doing, to celebrate their passion for quilts. The group has grown to include a much larger geographical region, including Stanwood, Arlington and Marysville.

Camano Island Quilters is a non-profit group of individuals organized for the purpose of educating its members in all forms of quilting and fiber arts by meeting together monthly, providing classes and opportunities for sharing our love of quilting together.

CIQ's community involvement includes comfort quilts for you patients at Providence Regional Medical Center as well as preemie quilts and hats for babies. We promote the La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum by actively participating in shows and in support of featured artists.

CIQ provides opportunities for members to become involved with many areas of quilting including leadership positions on the board or within committees. There are satellite groups for varied interests, including Applique, UFO's, Row Robin, American Hero Quilts, Cama Beach Quilters and our own Opportunity Quilt. These groups are great for making friends with those of similar quilting interest.
